[中文点评在下面] This weekend I went to the Hilford Hotel to go swimming and then afterwards went to this nearby, newly opened coffeehouse next to Xiamen University. I usually go to Heitang Coffee which sits opposite of this place – it’s got a more unique appeal and has a bunch of English books and magazines to read. Nonetheless, Xiaban.com didn’t have any photos or good reviews of this coffeehouse so I thought I’d fill in some info. It’s on the third floor of a small building of shops across from Heitang. It’s really hard to find – you need to go to the second floor and then find a small set of stair all the way to the right side of the building. It sits next to a small English-teaching shop and it appears that they frequently have an “English Corner” event (or so it claims on an ad in the stairwell. I recommend that you come here at night since they have a very large top floor outdoor patio with lots and lots of tables.
Inside is a bit small, but it’s designed very nicely. It’s too dark for students to read or study, but the seating arrangements and decoration make it nice for relaxing and chatting with friends. If you want to read/study, I suggest you go to Heitang across the sidewalk. The menu (only in Chinese) is nothing spectacular – your normal coffeehouse food and drinks. Nonetheless, I ordered a caramel pudding which was quite good. Also, my friend and I went at around 5-6pm but there were no other guests. Perhaps business isn’t so good because it’s so hard to find!
In any case, I’d like to bring a couple of friends over here at night and sit on the patio to relax and enjoy a nice summer breeze. It should be great!
我周末去了希尔福水园游泳了然后以后跟一个朋友去这个附近新开咖啡厅在厦大. 我经常喜欢去对面的黑糖咖啡厅 – 比较特色的风格也有很多英文书/杂志可以看, 可是我试试看这个地方因为下班网以前没有这里的很好的点评, 照片. 这家在黑糖的对面小大楼的上面3楼. 入口有一点难找到 – 需要上楼梯去二楼然后走右边的小楼梯到3楼. 隔壁有一个很小的教英文的商店所以这个咖啡厅也平常有一个”English Corner”活动 (没有去过 – 只看到广告). 外面有一个很大的阳台所以推荐你晚上在外面坐.
里面有一点小可是风格, 装修不错. 有一点嘿嘿所以学生不要这里看书. 这个咖啡厅的风格比较好跟朋友休息, 聊天 (在黑糖还可以看书). 这里有普通的饮料和菜 – 没有喝咖啡,可是点了一个焦糖布丁觉得不错. 因为我5-6点去了所以都没有其他的客人 – 有一点奇怪.不知道这个地方的商业可能不是特别好因为很难找到.
我要再过去跟朋友在阳台休息 – 很可能好舒服.
